How To Draw Psylocke

I have first made some basic construction with a few small details like her face and sword. This gives you the pose of the figure and also gives you an idea of her expression and how it will look when finished.

I haven't done the box-type construction here, but if you like, you can use that method of construction to get the anatomy and position of the body correct. If I am ever unsure, I still revert back to that type of construction.

Next, I have put in her costume lines and detailed the sword a bit more. You should keep in mind that when drawing a superhero like Psylocke (or any other who has a dark costume) that when you shade it will often be most of the costume gets turned to straight black shading. You'll see what I mean in the last picture.

Now, once you are happy with her overall look, you can get rid of as many of the construction lines as possible. I then darkened up the lines drastically and removed any more construction. I still need more practice drawing this character, but you get the idea of how she looks.

Psylocke is Asian, so her face should look -Asian (mine is ....well). Draw her in the usual style when drawing female figures but remember, she is very physically strong, well-trained and adept -so don't make the lines too smooth! And she has two main weapons -the katana and the psychic dagger (which is always fun to draw).
